Gathered is a small suite of apps — Magnify, Steward, Glean, Tidings, and Knit — built to help volunteer leaders and members serve in their congregations. This policy explains what information the apps collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to all five apps and to this website.
Who we are
Gathered is an independent, non-commercial project maintained by an individual developer. It is not an official product of, and is not endorsed by, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You can reach us at support@gatheredin.app.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name and email address, used to sign you in and identify you within an app.
- Information you provide — content you enter to use an app, such as assignments, ministering or welfare notes, availability, and messages. The specific data depends on the app and your role.
- Basic technical data — standard logs needed to operate and secure the service (for example, error reports). The apps do not use advertising trackers.
How we use information
We use your information only to provide and improve the apps' features — signing you in, showing you the information relevant to your role, and letting leaders coordinate service. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Service providers
The apps rely on a few trusted providers to function:
- Supabase — secure database, authentication, and hosting for app data.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Twilio — used by Tidings to send and receive text messages.
- Email delivery providers — used to send sign-in and notification emails.
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
How information is shared
Information you enter is visible to the leaders and members who are authorized within the same app and organization (for example, others serving in your ward or stake), according to your role. We do not share your information with third parties except the service providers above or when required by law.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the apps. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by emailing support@gatheredin.app. Some records entered by leaders may be retained as part of an organization's records.
Security
Data is stored with access controls so that people see only what their role allows. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
Children
The apps are intended for use by congregational leaders and members and are not directed to children under 13. Where information about youth is entered by a leader, that leader is responsible for handling it appropriately under their organization's guidelines.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
